The Gallery O on H in Washington DC is such an awesome place for a wedding. It is on the smaller side, so if you’re having a 40-80 person wedding (roughly) then you should definitely check it out.
The outdoor courtyard is perfect for a ceremony, and then the back part of it is perfect for a reception with long dinner tables. Check out the photos below for more visuals of that!
The indoor gallery space is multi-level, and has rooms upstairs for getting ready. The downstairs part can hold a nice cocktail hour.
There are lots of neat features tucked away inside, like big windows to let in natural light, a lot of exposed brick, and a garage door that opens up into the courtyard space.
Steph and Dan had the most intentional day with a select number of close family and friends. They wrote their own vows (that made me cry!) and blended their cultures together in a Korean-Jewish wedding ceremony.
The Gallery O on H’s brick exterior and modern interior made for some great artsy couple portraits. The way the light hits the courtyard in the summer evenings can be intense, but lends an added element to the photos.
The best part about weddings at the Gallery O on H, in my opinion, is the reception space. The courtyard is the perfect space for two long dinner tables, and makes for the best intimate dinner reception. There are stairs at the top that are perfect for toasts. And then everyone can come back up to the main courtyard area for dancing!
Steph and Dan did a mock sparkler “exit”, which is an option if you want sparkler exit photos, but don’t need photography coverage through the whole reception. They chose to have theirs between the cake cutting and the dancing, so it was a natural segue into everyone getting up on the dance floor anyway.
