I saw Claudia and Taylor’s proposal photos when I was scrolling through instagram one day, and I was already in love with them because Claudia proposed in a field of lavender. Lavender is my faaaave. Then the next day, Taylor posted the cutest instagram story of getting flowers as a surprise at work from Claudia. I am HERE for stuff like that.
We live in a cool time where you can connect with amazing people as easily as this. Without instagram, I never would’ve gotten to meet these two and their adorable pit bull, Mello. They were also kind enough to invite me to their place for dinner the night before the shoot, and we had the best time hanging out and getting to know each other, which made the shoot so much easier and more fun than it would’ve been.
Waking up at the crack of dawn for a sunrise engagement session is never hard. I’m always hyped up on adrenaline and excitement anyway. But I have so much respect for my couples for getting up even earlier than me to look their best and get ready before we meet up.
For this shoot, we knew we had to beat the NYC crowds by getting up extra early. The Brooklyn Bridge gets super crowded the later you wait, and this spot on the streets of DUMBO where you can see the Brooklyn Bridge AND the Empire State Building is a huge tourist location. So needless to say, I was very happy we got up early and beat the NYC tourist crowds for this awesome sunrise shoot.
