Central Park is one of the best places in NYC to do your engagement session because it gives you so many options for backgrounds and locations.
You can get the city vibes and nature vibes all in one, plus the interesting architecture and skyline backgrounds are to die for.
In just a 1-2 hour photo session, this couple was able to get photos at the Mall, Literary Walk, Bow Bridge, Bethesda Terrace, and the Bethesda fountain.
There are plenty of places within the park that are even further but everything for this shoot was in close walking distance, making it easy and fun to hit all the spots.
While Central Park may seem cliche to people who have lived in the city for a while, I feel like it really embodies the city in an interesting way and never gets old. You can find pockets within the park that are less traversed and more unknown, making for unique photos. You can also pick the touristy spots that give you that true NYC vibe for your engagement session.
No matter where within the park you choose, you’ll definitely benefit from getting there at sunrise. We got there at the crack of dawn for this shoot, and barely had to deal with any other people. If you go later in the day, you’ll have to dodge tons of tourists and people everywhere, making your shoot a lot less intimate and a lot more crowded.
